SUCCESS STORY
Mrs.M. Appalanarasamma ; an artisan of Jute Crafts is a member in Sri Gayatri Artisan’s MACS Ltd-Bejjipuram ; she is a master Crafts person attending to Handicrafts exhibitions/ Expos/meals organized by the agencies of Govt and NGO across all states . She extended her expert services to reputed NGOs and imparted skill in Jute Crafts to around 300 women entrepreneurs. She interacted with the chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Mrs. Angela Merkwell in October -2007 in NABARD Hqrs at Mumbai. Germany chancellor after having 40 minutes interaction with her; impressed to see the Jute products and gave Rs.14,500/- as gift and a testimonial to her Self Help Group.
16 Years back she was an agriculture laborer; compelled to do hard work to take care of lone son after the sudden demise of her husband. She learnt the Jute Craft Skills in a training course run by YCB during 1992-93 with the support of Dist Rural Development Agency. Further she attended to half a dozen designing programmes conducted by YCB and improved her skills.
She is now earning @Rs.3,000/- Pm. She promoted her thatched hut to a Semi Permanent House by utilizing Govt. Scheme support. He brought her son and educated him up to graduation. He was employed in Vizag Steel Plant. She has been covered under both insurance Schemes.

She extended her expert services to NGOs/DRDAS and imparted skills in Jute Crafts to around 400 women entrepreneurs.
She interacted with the chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany in October -2007 in NABARD Hqrs at Mumbai. Germany chancellor after having good impression on the Handicrafts products displayed by her in the exhibition; gave her a cheque of Rs.14,500/- as gift and testimonial to her Self Help Group.
16 Years back she was an agriculture laborer and getting very low income. She is a married woman and has 3 children. Her husband is not able to earn to cater to the needs of her family. She underwent 6 months training conducted by YCB and learnt skills in making various products. During the last six years she participated in 6 designing programs and was able to improve her Quality / Skills. She is earning @ Rs.3,000/- to Rs.5,000/- Pm and taking care of her 3 children and Husband . She improved her housing unit and imparted her children education. She is also covered by both Insurance Schemes-JBY and RGSSY (Health Insurance).
