Welcome to YCB -

PATH is conducting a pilot project on HIV/SRH convergence in Srikakulam District of Andhra Pradesh and its intervention activities focus on the ‘service’ side by building capacity of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) service providers to provide stigma-free quality services to HIV Positive people and Female Sex Workers and on the ‘demand’ side by raising awareness of and demand for SRH Services among these communities. The target for intervention as follows:

  1. SRH Service Providers in District Head Quarters Hospital (Presently Rajeev Institute of Medical Sciences), Srikakulam and Area Hospital Palakonda in Srikakulam District.
  2. HIV Positive People and Female Sex Workers in 9 selected Mandals in same district, served by these two hospitals.

Review of activities of key population consultants and IPC facilitators was done on 28th January 2009 by Prasad Rao of YCB, Samuel Varaprasad of PATH and Rambabu and Geetha, two national key population consultants for the project.

The team reviewed the support provided by local KPCs in the past three months to increase awareness of and demand for SRH services among female sex workers and HIV-positive people.
